Damage assessment and restoration efforts continue
Monday, Dec. 23 – 11:59 p.m.
Damaging winds continue to move through the Puget Sound region, with gusts near 50 mph in some areas. As damage assessment and field work continue, estimated restoration times will be updated on our outage map at yilunjianshe.com/outagemap and the myPSE app. Our crews are responding to current outages and are ready to deploy with new assignments.
We have temporarily disabled outage notifications via email, text and automated calls, as we work to make improvements to our outage map experience. Please continue to report outages on our map and app, as those reports are captured in our system.
We understand the stress and disruption that outages can cause on your family and plans, especially during the holidays. Please know our crews and support staff are working around the clock to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
Weather Alert
Monday, Dec. 23 – 6 p.m.
The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for locations in our service area from this evening to Tuesday morning. Damaging southeast winds are forecasted, with gusts up to 50 mph in some locations, including Maple Valley, Enumclaw, Black Diamond and North Bend. Easterly winds may also impact Western Whatcom and Skagit counties.
We have been watching the forecast since late last week and are prepared for stormy weather. Our Emergency Coordination Center and local storm bases are open to mobilize resources, and crews will deploy with assignments as it’s safe to do so. Additional line and tree crews from outside the area have been brought in to assist with restoration and we have been replenishing material supplies to ensure readiness.
The strength and direction of the forecasted winds has the potential to cause downed trees and branches, bringing power lines down with them. Never touch or go within 35 feet of downed power lines because they might be energized. Stay away and call PSE at 1-888-225-5773 or 911 if you encounter a downed line. For reference, 35 feet is approximately the length of a school bus.
We know how disruptive power outages can be, especially during the holiday season and as we know some customers have experienced back-to-back outages due to recent weather systems. We appreciate your patience and will be working to restore power as quickly as we safely can.
Please note, we have temporarily turned off outage notifications via email, text and automated calls, as we work to make improvements to our outage map experience. Continue to report outages on our map and app, as those reports are captured in our system.
